EX – GUBER ASPIRANT NZEAKOR ON LONE RANGE

He appeared briefly on the political climate of Imo state before disappearing again.  Not many will know this Jude Nzeakor except that he sought to govern the state on two occasions in 2007 and 2011 but did not succeed.  Having lost everything, Nzeakor has returned to private life.  During the 2007 and 20011 political era, the Isiala Mbano born politician moved in convoy of cars and personal aides including security operatives.  But things seem to have changed for the gap – toothed and suave gentlemen as he is on–his–own now.

Few days ago, POPULAR SIDE spotted Nzeakor on the streets of Owerri alone.  No driver, police or aide moved around with him.  The man who vied for the number one position in the state drove his dark-coloured sequia jeep alone.  The manner he handled the steering indicates that it was a cumbersome job for him having been chauffer driven in the past.

RESCUE MISSION AND TOKUNBO BUSES

Except Imo state has become a dumping ground for old and rickety vehicles, why should the present administration be importing tokunbo vehicles for mass transit?  In this era people are searching for government contracts, anything can be supplied to government.  POPULAR SIDE has observed the presence of some “good for nothing” buses painted in Rescue Mission “black and black” colour parked at various locations in the state.  What attracted the POPULAR SIDE attention and that of keen observers is the deteriorated state of the tokunbo buses.  On arrival, most of them have broken down and are immovable even as it had the Rescue Mission insignia all over the body.  One of the buses recently disappointed its occupants at the Government House Owerri, when it refused to kick – start for a function at Imo Airport, Owerri.  The occupants could not help but disembark lamenting why a rickety bus could be procured for transport in modern times.  What worries most people is the fact that the spare parts required to repair the vehicles are scarce and cannot be purchased in Owerri markets.

 Luke Chukwu and Dress pattern

Dress code or uniform is not a criteria for any honourable member of Imo State House of Assembly to attend House sittings or public functions.  But that is not enough for any public office holder of the House to neglect social rules of dressing.  Many members of the state legislature are guilty in this aspect especially the member representing Ohaji/Egbema state constituency, Hon Luke Chukwu.  The fact that he is the House Committee Chairman in Agriculture does not mean he should dress the way he likes.  POPULAR SIDE notices that the lawmaker uses face –cap to complement native/traditional wears.  Hon Chukwu’s awkward dress pattern forces POPULAR SIDE to ask if the lawmaker has a domestic PA that prepares his wardrobe for social and public outings.  No one will be surprised if he appears in the public with suit and chieftaincy cap.  Well, that is “mix – cogbuo”

DIBIAGWU’S HERO STATUS

The arrival of Hon Dibiagwu, the undefeatable lawmaker, representing Oguta State Constituency of Imo state, at Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha’s event last Saturday was welcomed by the mammoth crowd with the shout of DOWN DOWN APGA SHAME TO HATERS OF DEMOCRACY.

Everybody around that moment wanted to have a hand shake with a man who fought to defend his right and that of Oguta people. Most of the visitors including distinguished senators, House of Reps members, ministers and political heavy weights from all walks of life where happy to see Hon Dibiagwu who was glittering with a white caftan, a man made even more popular by the gimmicks of some forces poised to deprive Oguta people their representation because he is of the PDP. Popular side congratulates Dibiagwu as a winner because he is not a quitter.
