After a period of dilly- dallying on non- payment and delay of salaries in Imo state, the labour unions appear to have woken from slumber by giving the Uzodinma led administration an ultimatum.
Recall that there have several complaints about pension matters, staggered and unharmonized payments with some not receiving at all.
According to a letter from the state public service, Negotiating Council ( Trade Union side) Imo state, dated 19th October, 2020 and addressed to the governor of Imo state, through the Principal Secretary, it stated that, the labour is giving government 14 – days ultimatum over the below stated issues.
“Non- payment, staggered payment and under payment of Imo workers salaries and pensions since February 2020 to date”
“Demands for immediate conclusion of the #30,000 National minimum wage negotiations in the state and immediate implementation”.
” Non release of check off dues to all industrial union in Imo state since April 2020 to date”.
