Governor Hope Uzodinma’s pragmatic leadership in Imo State has received accolades from the IMC Chairman of Oru East Local Government Area, Imo State, Nze Nyerere Ogbonna.
The commendations followed the recently held Imo stakeholders meeting, which took place on July 24, 2021, at the Eze Imo palace, in Owerri.
It was a platform created by Governor Uzodinma to relay his stewardship to Imolites.
Commending the initiative, Nze Nyerere Ogbonna submitted that in the history of Imo State, such has never been in place, where a Governor will be briefing the masses his activities, policies, programs, achievements and challenges.
He said the avenue would create an opportunity for fresh ideas and answer questions begging for answers.
The Oru East boss further lauded Governor Uzodinma for his well thought out plans towards delivering effective governance in Imo State, a feather he said would stand a test of time.
Similarly, Nze Ogbonna while outlining some of the notable efforts of the Imo number one citizen, thumbed up for him for arresting the ravaging insecurity situation in the State.
According to Ogbonna, “It takes a sagacious Leader like Onwa Oyoko time, energy, wisdom, vision, love, humility to get Imo State where it is today. The Governor is God’s gift to us”.
He continued, “Because he believes in effective and practicable democracy, and a man who believes in the Rule of law, due process, our State is in World map. We are proud of you, your Excellency”.
Nze Nyerere Ogbonna also highlighted some of the impacts of the stakeholders meeting, amongst which is identifying with the people, getting first hand information, and presenting periodic score cards.
The Governor was further commended for moves towards the revamping of Development Centres across the twenty-seven Council Areas of Imo. He was of the view that through it, more development will come to the grassroots.
The process has exposed the Governor’s determination to living up to the dictates of good governance, which he promised to give. Accountability is his watchword, Due Process is seen every day and everywhere in the 3R Government”, Ogbonna said.
It would be recalled that recently at the Oru East council Headquarter, Omuma last week, the IMC chairman, alongside other Government functionaries flagged off the N5000 monthly stipend of the Rapid Response Register (RRR) programme, aimed to cushion the effects of the Covid-19 in Nigeria.
At the commencement of the programme, Trumpeta learnt, the IMC chairman thanked the Presidency and the Governor for the ingenuity in organizing the project.
Nze Ogbonna opined that it came at the right time when Oru East people and entire Ndi Imo needed such support base.
Moreso, Governor Hope Uzodinma was extolled for his human capital development, citing the massive empowerment of Imo Youths with N250,000.
Ogbonna urged the beneficiaries to take the opportunities seriously.
On Imo Civil Service, Uzodinma basked Ogbonna’s eulogies for changing the narratives for good, through the prompt payment of worker’s salaries and pensions, welfare package, and staff promotion, not leaving the reconstruction of the state secretariats leaking roof.
However, the Oru East Council boss bemoaned Uzodinma’s critics to quit, and join in moving the State forward.
Nze Ogbonna maintained that if Imo’s past Leaders had similar vision like Uzodinma, the State would have recorded more giant strides, hence, charged all hands at home and in diaspora to be partners in progress, not necessarily by political party, but by competence.
