The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Orlu chapter during the week inaugurated their newly elected executive at the Youth House Orlu road secretariat Owerri, the new executives includes Duru Uchenna (Chairman) Oguaju Mathew I. (Deputy), Arch. Ajawara Ugochukwu (Sec.), Declan Anele (Ass. Sec), Sandra Eririogu (Treasurer) Onyeama Fredinard (PRO1) Emejuru Callistus (Fin Sec.) Bob Okwu Dim (V. Chairman Isu) Ihejirika Ikechukwu (ex-Officio Isu)
Inaugurating the Excos, the Deputy Chairman of the NYCN in the state Comrade Acho Ashiegbu explained that NYCN is an umbrella body for all other registered youth organization in the country, having the integrity and welfare of the teeming Nigeria and Imo Youth to protect as their primary assignment, therefore should not be used for selfish motives or victimization but selfless adventure for the emancipation and liberation of the helpless youth which also serves as a stepping stone for future leadership aspirations.
Comrade Ashiegbu, however advocated for the total cooperation and support of all members to the new Exco so as to enable them deliver their manifesto to the later for the upliftment of Imo Youths and Orlu Youth in particular.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman condemned the action of some aspirants/ candidate towards and during the elections especially the action of some group who went on air to declare themselves as the new executives when elections have not been certified conclude by the state Exco.
He revealed that consequently, the perpetrators were punished with disqualification and suspension and warned that the umbrella body will not take lightly any act of sabotage.
Some of the state exco present at the inauguration include, Deputy Chairman Acho Asinegbu, treasurer Stellamaris Anuruom secretary Emeka Nwoke, religious adviser, Cyprian Okorie, Ex-Officio Okigwe zone, chibundu Uchegbu, and youth welfare officer Orlu LGA Mrs. Akpanyua PN.
