Deputy Governor Elect, Ekomaru, Harritex, Owerri Patriots Celebrate Uzodinma’s Re-election In Owerri North.

.As Hector Nnadi Appeals For Citizens’ Support For Gov.

The Owerri Patriots, a socio/political pressure group with interest in supporting the good governance of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, rolled out the drums penultimate Wednesday at Ulakwo, the home of one of the major stakeholders of APC in the state, Chief Henry Njoku (Harritex) to celebrate the re-election of the governor. Present at the occasion were many  dignitaries from different political backgrounds including the Deputy Governor- Elect, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, her amiable husband , Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru ( SAN), Chief Henry Njoku, Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Barr Chima Anozie, Owerri North House member, Hon Kelechi Ofurum, the Solad, Chief Tony Umezuruike, Amb. Kema Chikwe  etc.

In his keynote address, the convener of the Owerri Patriots,  Comrade Hector Nnadi explained that the group, made up of professionals from different parts of Owerri Federal Constituency came together to campaign for the re-election of the governor through sponsorship of radio jingles, electronic/print media adverts and  erection of billboards. He stated that although the group sponsored most of their projects for the re- election of His Excellency, they also got support from Chief Henry Njoku ( Harritex) who was  installed as Patron of the organisation.

Top on the agenda of the group as stated by comrade Hector, was publicising the wonderful achievements of His Excellency during and after his re-election. He further emphasized that the gathering was an opportunity for the members to savour the election victory in which their contributions and those of their leaders counted. “The victory party was to appreciate ourselves and acknowledge the support of our Patron, Chief Henry  Njoku who has been tirelessly working even before the elections to ensure a good image for APC  and for a clean election result”, the convener said. He called on all and sundry to rally round the governor and give him maximum support for the stability and growth of the state.

Comrade Hector also stated that the group strategized to ensure that Governor Uzodinma’s works were projected and acknowledged across the length and breadth of Owerri.

He used the occasion to outline some infrastructural projects executed by the Governor to include the Ulakwo- Imerienwe road which he noted was in a disastrous state of disrepair before it got the attention of the state Chief executive who happens to be an in-law to Ulakwo  community. The labour leader remarked  that Ulakwo and most parts of Owerri area have been given face lift courtesy of the governor as never experienced before, saying it is a sign of better days to come. He praised Chief Njoku for his role in the rehabilitation  of the Ulakwo-Imerienwe road and described him as youth friendly and a good ambassador of Owerri people.

Comrade Hector also thanked the Deputy Governor-Elect for attending the event and prayed that she fits into the mould of great women like Amb.Kema Chikwe who has become a great model for service and women in politics.

Deputy governor elect, Lady Ekomaru, in her remark gave kudos to the group and to Chief Njoku for dedication and strong support they have given to the governor that culminated in the victory of the APC  in Owerri and beyond. She enjoined the group to remain committed to the party and the programs of the governor, noting that the next four years of the governor’s administration will witness a huge transformation that will have positive impact on the lives of Imolites. She further acknowledged the Governor’s stand on the Charter of Equity and called on the people to continue to trust him to deliver on every promise he made.

Lending his voice, the APC strong man, Chief Njoku expressed delight over the decision of the group to key into the re-election of the governor and for standing by their outlined core objectives.  He promised to extend support to the group whenever required. The freight Forwarding and Clearing guru described the governor as a reliable and very conscientious leader who has unparalleled desire to make Imo the next  development hub and called on the group not to relent, but to continue propagating the good works of the governor as outlined in their package. Some of the members of the group at the event included Chief Jezrel Eke, Hon Lady Chidinma Opara, Hon Prince Emeka Oparaochaekwe, Barr Kingdom Okere, Onyekachi Uzoma (Big fish), Tony Moses Nnadi, Chief Martin Anukam, Hon Chibo Oparaochaekwe, Hon Charity Opara, Hon Samuel Anyanwu, Hon Innocent Anaeme, Mr Darlington Kabiri and Chido Ihenacho.
