The fate of political appointees and civil servants in some government agencies and parastals is hanging in the balance as the state government has once again stopped allocation and monthly subvention to some of them.
After dropping some agencies and parasatals from list of government ministries, Departments and Agencies entitled to monthly allocation, and reducing some in recent past, another shocker faced workers and political appointees in some of the affected places yesterday when nothing was allocated to them in the subvention list for the month of February, 2013.
It was sadness and sorrow on the part of the affected ministries on Wednesday when the subvention list released from the office of the Accountant General of the state starved them of funds. Some of the staffers could not help but burst into tears to bemoan their fate as the may go home empty handed after working for the month of February.
Some of the parastals affected include the Consumer Protection Council, CPC, Imo Water Corporation (IWC), Bureau for Niger Delta, Poverty Alleviation Bureau and Imo Market Board.
None of the political appointees in the affected government agency was willing to react on the latest development when contacted on phone for comments.
