Owerri West Women PGs Speak In One Voice, Throw Weight Behind Kanayo Onyemaechi’s IMHA Bid

Women leaders from the various autonomous communities in Owerri West Local Government Area have endorsed Rt. Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi in his bid for the Imo State House of Assembly seat in the 2027 general elections, for the third term representation.

The women, under the aegis of the Owerri West Women Presidents-General (PGs), in one voice, hinted that their decision was informed by what they described as Onyemaechi’s record of achievements and his contributions to the development of the constituency.

Speaking during an engagement with supporters and community stakeholders, the women leaders maintained that their endorsement was based on their assessment of Onyemaechi’s antecedents and his visible commitment to the interests of the people since his first term to the 2nd term.

They said his antecedents had continued to attract attention across the constituency, stressing that their support was intended to strengthen a political movement they believe is connected to the aspirations of the people.

The Owerri West women leaders further called for unity among the people, urging residents to remain focused on issues of representation, development, and effective leadership as the election approaches.

They disclosed that Onyemaechi’s quest for a third tenure was born out of his desires to further enhance the wellbeing of the people of Owerri West by making their voices heard in the chambers.

“Egbe is our son in whom we are well pleased. Even if he wants to go beyond a third term, he has our support. He is humble, accessible, result oriented, and lover of God. Anything that concerns us the women, he does not joke with it.

“Are we talking about empowerment programs, attraction of projects, and law making, Egbe-eji-eje-ogu has not disappointed us. So we, the women PGs collectively say, Carry go. We stand by you at all times, “they echoed.

Onyemaechi, while appreciating the women leaders for their confidence and support, pledged to remain committed to the people and to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He also enjoined them to continue praying for the government of Senator Hope Uzodimma, adding that he may not have achieved a lot without the cordial relationship existing among the arms of government.

Also, he asked that they vote for all the APC Candidates across the board in the upcoming elections.

Rt. Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi is currently the Leader, Imo State House of Assembly.
