Despite losing out in the recent battle for who takes over control of affairs in the 27 LGAs of the state, elected Chairman under the aegis of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, has declared that it is not yet uhuru for Governor Okorocha and the newly appointed Sole Administrators, SOLADs.

In a statement made available to Imo Trumpeta through its leadership, ALGON disclosed that it can never surrender their mandate for any reason adding that they are law-abiding citizens of the state desirous to ensure peace and tranquility reigns at the grassroots level by fighting their cause through legitimate means.

The statement endorsed by ALGON Secretary in the state, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu stated “ALGON cannot surrender because we have a heavenly duty to defend the mandate given to us by Imo State electorates”.

According to Onuegbu of Ngor Okpala Local Government, the SOLADs will go the way the former Transition Committee Chairmen who held sway during Okorocha’s era went adding that they have nothing from the state government to show they have political appointment. “The SOLADs will go the way of the TC’s before them, with ignominy and no letter of appointment”, he added.

Onuegbu further expressed that “the rascality of Okorocha in misappropriating Imo LGA monthly statutory allocations and funds so far in excesses of N120bn shall soon end. All the AIT, NTA, Channels TV shows will end and light will overcome darkness”.

On the lingering N458m fraud case leveled against the Deputy Governor of the state, Sir Jude Agbaso, Onuegbu states; “You can see he has lost his loquacious voice since the story of 3km road at N1.5bn upfront payment broke out”.

While declaring that April 22, 2013 remains another date in the law court for the struggle, Onuegbu opined that ALGON remains resolute in its struggle for the rule of law stating that “we are only obeying the State Commissioner of Police who asked both parties to await his decision, yet Rescue Mission SOLADs broke into the councils as if that is the ultimate yet they avoid police invitation. The wheel of justice may grind slowly but it must arrive”.
