Hon. Ikpeazu Interacts with constituents Opens constituency office, explains CGC

In a programme to mark his one year as a State legislator, the member representingOwerriNorthStateconstituency Hon Daniel C Ikpeazu at the weekend gathered his constituents together, to give account of his stewardship and chat a way forward for the entire people of Owerri North.  The event took place at Orji Youth hall, Orji.

The event was kick started with the commissioning of his new constituency office at Ugwu Awaka by the Deputy Speaker of Imo state House of Assembly, Hon Ozoemena assisted by Eze Oshimiri of Awaka, Eze Akujuobi Osuagwu.  In his speech, the Deputy Speaker, extolled his colleague for his visionary programmes which has been source of inspiration for them (his colleagues) at the House of Assembly as he advice the constituents to utilize the office properly.   Eze Osuagwu prayed to God to be with Hon Ikpeazu so as to continue with his good works.

Before the town hall meeting which is his second town hall meeting with the people of Owerri North, Hon Ikpeazu paid a courtesy call to Eze Orji and his cabinet, Eze Opara, (Eze Ugo 2) of Orji at his palace to thank them for their support during his election and intimate them of the town hall meeting.  In his response to the Eze Ugo II of Orji extol Hon Ikpeazu for his positive impact within just one year in office and pledge their support to him.

In his address/account of stewardship, the Chairman House committee on MDGs, thanked the mammoth crowd at the hall and those at home for finding him worthy and fighting for him to represent them.   He assured them that the only way to show appreciation is to guide and protect their economic and political interest with utmost jealousy by making sure that all their duty and benefits never elude them.

However, the Former Councillor enumerated his achievement’s in the last eleven months which includes, the opening up of all roads in Owerri North, Personal financing of eleven (11) transformers to eleven communities in the council, securing of ten University admissions and four employment opportunities for the youths of Owerri North.  He also announced his three months youth empowerment programme on computer literacy for 120 youths, 10 from each ward in the L.G.  He went further to promise the provision on 3 new transformers for three other communities before his next town hall meeting.

On the issue of Fourth tier/Community Government Council, he revealed that the House of Assembly has already passed the bill, but promised that no one will loses his/her job.  He stated that project is aimed at bringing development to the grass root, check ghost workers, improve on worker efficiency and effectiveness and also improve agriculture.

He charged parents to put more effort in the up bring of their children and wards, not to pressurize them on material wealth to check the social ills that has become the lot of Imo people recently.  He also enjoined them to encourage contractors, protect government projects and properties.
