Oguta H/A Re-Run: A Challenge to Imo Security

Since 2011 when the election into Oguta state Assembly was conducted, won and lost, the people of that state constituency has not heard any peace as well as had “any” representation at the state House of Assembly.
This is because of the court litigations which has trailed that election. First was when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive in some wards.
Thereafter, the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA candidate Chief Walter Uzowanne headed to the election petition Tribunal to challenge the declaration of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Eugene Dibiagwu who later won at the tribunal and subsequently declared winner and sworn in as the member representing Oguta state Assembly at the House of Assembly.
But before that dust could settle down, the APGA candidate proceeded to a superior court which eventually nullified the election and called for a re-run.
Since after that annulment and fixing of a date for the re-run, much has been heard and said from all the contending political parties in the said Saturday June 28th, 2013 re-run election.
From a hindsight, feelers from all the contending political parties is not cheering with drums of war at the lips of all.
Unfortunately, this is coming when the people of Imo state are beginning to sleep with their two eyes closed courtesy of the doggedness of the new commissioner of police Mr Mohammed Katsina and indeed the security operatives in the state.
Since the arrival of the commissioner of police in the state some couple of months ago, the high rate of crime especially kidnapping and other associated crimes has drastically reduced to its bearest minimum which points to the professional wizardry and professionalism of the commissioner.
As the Oguta House of Assembly re-run election is two days away from today, it is expected that the commissioner will not relent in ensuring that nobody even the Governor or president put him to test with this election by trying to rubbish this great feet he has so far achieved for himself.
The re-run election is a litmus test to the neutrality of security operatives in the state as it will be a dis-service to nation hood and humanity if they compromise to the temptations of politicians to do otherwise.

Nothing other than transparency and neutrality in the discharge of their duties is expected as any compromise will not only be disappointing but indeed will threaten the already achieved peace in the state.

Elimination Of Emergency Governors And Public Office Holders In Imo State
Please grant me the opportunity to express my view on the above topic in your widely read newspaper. I read the Harvest by Innocent Onyeukwu on the back page of trumpeta Tuesday, April 16, 2013 captioned Kema Chikwe’s definition of Emergency Governors in Imo” and was motivated to react thus:
First I accept all he said about Emergency governors in Imo State which is as a result of “frog jumping” from one political party to another in other to buy a post for their own selfish interest. I strongly believe that a person who is not loyal and respectful to policies and principles of an organization he belongs to is an outlaw. And any outlaw who grabs leadership power by hook or crook must be selfish and tyrannical and you will believe with me that this is against the ethics and principles of democracy.
Also, any politician who moves from one party to the other is not considerate in his decision and if given the opportunity to take an official position like that at a governor will also never be consistent in his administrations and will not be able to accomplice any single agenda of his administration but abandons the projects of his predecessors and still goes ahead to start a similar project either on the same spot or elsewhere.
A god example is the roundabouts in Owerri Municipal No single administration that came that has not destroyed the work of past administrations and start his own. Look at the area of grass and flower planting, each governor will remove the ones planted by past governors and still plant their own.
Infact, just like that article on Trumpeta said, their emergency appearance into power bring about emergency policies which is half baked and unreliable.
When will Imo State over come these “frog jumpers” who maneuvered their ways to corridors of power at all cost because of their selfish ambition. Do you think that a person who bribes his way into another party and spends so much money to get that party’s ticket will be truthful? How are we sure that he will not look for avenues to recover all the money he spent in buying a foreign ticket to power?
However, let me not dwell in facts that we already know and waste precious time. I think that what everybody will be asking now is how can we overcome this problem of “Emergency governors” as Hon. Kema Chikwe called them.
I believe that the solution is here with us and we can start in 2015 election to correct this anomalies. Firstly, I think is high time will follow the records of these politicians and shun those “carpet crossers’ It is fact that they leave their party to another because of their selfish ambition. Some of them will try to deceive you that they don’t like the activities of their party. Accepted. Why not support the candidature of your new party? Must you cross cappet to contest election? Are you better than other candidates in that party?
Party members should criticize the activities of corrupt party executives who collect bribe and give these new corners ticket to carry their flag.
However, to solve the problem of emergency governor” in 2015 I think there is a person who is steadfast and consistent in his policies, principles and loyalty to his party. Who has be tested and find competent within and outside the Country. Who is not selfish and overambitious you will know who I am talking about. To clear the puzzle, I am thinking that His Excellency Hon. Barr. Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi is the best candidate for Imo Governorship 2015. please don’t get me wrong. I am not a politician neither am I a PDP member, but as a Nigerian I follow the activities of politician in Imo State. He is one of the good politician who has not cross carpeted in all his political career. That means he knows what he believed in. also, to run the election for the presidency of PAN African parliament and win means that he is good.
For Imolites to reject a candidate like Bethel Amadi means that they hate truth, steadfastness and discipline.
When I view Bethel as the best Governor of Imo State, I begin to feel sorry for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru on the grounds of who will represent them at Abuja. But when I remember, the good nature of Ijeoma Nwafor who even with all her father’s connections and power, I get consoled because “he who cannot accept defect can never host Victory’ If it were to be these emergency politicians, they would have “frog jumped”into another corrupt party to win the election at all cost even to the detriment of the electorates.
Please lets call a spade a spade. Let us not be deceived again by these lions in sleep clothen who uses God’s name in vein. Their slogan is religious but their activities are demonic. They are selfish back bitters who prefer criticizing others rather than satisfy the electorates.
