The newly registered merger party, All Progressive Congress APC, and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have been graded and likened to have the same ideology, mentality and mission by the founder of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and the United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief Chekwas Okorie.
Speaking in a world press conference in Owerri, Imo State after the inauguration of the UPP Imo State Working Committee recently, the Abia State born political oracle under-scored the two parties for being made up of same political leaders who have in one way or the other contributed immensely to the political, economic and security woes of the nation, Nigeria. He described them as reactionary forces, who are not after the collective position change of the country.
Chief Okorie, averred that the PDP and APC as parties have no play ground for true progressives and therefore have no hope for the oppressed and marginalized people of Nigeria because godfatherism and the winner takes it all syndrome is their watch words.
Meanwhile, earlier at the inauguration, the UPP apex leader had promised the party that the disrupted and embattled Imo Charter of Equity be looked into, considered and resolved for justice, peace and unity of the state.
He maintained that UPP is a party of progressives that is born out of the mission and vision to provide sanctuary and hope for the oppressed and marginalized citizens of Nigeria, and therefore has nothing in common with such parties like PDP and APC.
