Emekuku 9: The True Story

Even as people of the State especially residents of Emekuku are yet to recover from the tragic end of nine persons who died after a burial ceremony, reports of how they met their untimely death and processes that heralded their demise have continued to emerge.

 

Family sources close to wife of the deceased head of the family, paschal Njoku revealed that ominous signs that tragedy would befall the Njoku have emerged as soon as they arrived Umuakuru village Emekuku, Owerri North LGA ofImoStatefrom theirPort Harcourtbase for the burial of their late mother few days to the ceremony.

 

According to one of the male folks (names withheld) who escaped the mysterious death by whiskers as he could not sleep in the building that night after spending the previous day with the deceased persons, he said   the Njoku’s arrived Owerri on Tuesday after one year absence necessisted by a family quarrel over land matters.

 

The Njoku’s did not sleep in their family building that Tuesday as they slept somewhere else.

According to the source who did not want his name on print, on Wednesday, he slept where the entire Njoku family and funny events happened that instilled fear in the minds of all. He said that those of them that slept in the parlor where surprised to notice that the door securely locked forced itself open on two occasions.

 

On a third occurrence, he asked them to move away from the parlor to other rooms to avoid the looming danger. They managed to survive the nightmarish experience forcing them to relocate to the old compound the next day being Thursday. The sister of the deceased man who was informed of the Tuesday night horror swore to sleep at the new building stating that nothing would happen.

She volunteered to sleep there despite nursing a 5 month baby. Again, the night horror began and the baby was caught in the web of the mysterious attack.

 

The baby was kept in a bed where the child stayed and was almost stone dead before the mother cried and hugged the baby fell down. The deceased paschal Njoku came to their rescue but was attacked but he succeeded in taking his sister ad child to safety.

Disturbed by the development, Mr. Njoku invited a Pentecostal pastor to pray for the family.

In the course of the prayer, something strange struck the pastor which ended the prayer abruptly.

 

Our source disclosed that the Njoku’s   would have fled the village because of the unusual development but had to go ahead because the burial date and programmes have been stated. While nothing happened before
