EDA inaugurates committee for Oji Ezinihitte 2013 gets land for Secretariat

The main socio – cultural organization that organizes the “Oji Ezinihitte ceremony every 1st of January, the Ezinhitte Development Association (EDA) has inaugurated a 21 – man planning committee for the 2013 edition of the tradition/cultural carnival.

The committee was charged by the EDA president Surv. Joe. Anosike during the inauguration, not to let the people and their guest down.

They were also told to liaise with the local organizing committee of Ogboete community for a successful plan and execution of the New Year carnival.

It will be recalled that the event is an age – long ceremony which the people of Ezinihitte use to celebrate with Oji to thank God for the previous year and pray for this guidance for the incoming year.

He said each community in Ezinihitte local government parades with their titled men accompanied by their local dance groups and take “Oji” in turns among the various autonomous communities in the LG.

Responding on behalf of the committee, the Chairman Chief Ikpeoha thanked the leadership of EDA for finding them worthy for the task and promised that they will not leave any stone unturned for a breathtaking Oji Ezinihitte 2013 and solicited for the support of the Association.

However, the occasion was taken to cloud 9 with the donation of a portion of land for the Social Cultural Organization’s Secretariat by the care take committee Chairman of the LG, Dr.Hilary Eke.
