Ahiazu Mbaise Unites For 2015 Governorship

In an effort to produce the next governor of Imo State come 2015, the people of Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area under the aegis of Ahiazu Political Movement (APM) have commenced efforts to appeal to other LGAs’ in Imo State to support their quest in producing Douglas House Chief executive come 2015.
The motion for the adoption of its name “Ahiazu Political Movement (APM)” was moved by former member representing Ahiazu mbaise in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Pius Nwoga.
The meeting which was convened by Chief S.A. Adi, the traditional prime minister of Nnarambia Ahiara Autonomous Community in Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A was aimed at discussing the political future of Ahiazu people.
In his remarks, Chief S.A. Adi noted the impact and importance of Ahiazu people in the polity of Imo State and Nigeria in general as he recalled that an Ahiazu Son in the person of Chief I.D. Nwoga was a major Helmsman in the formation of PDP in Imo State and has always worked and supported the party but noted regrettably that the people is yet to benefit from the efforts of the likes of I.D Nwoga and others stressing that the party should reciprocate his good gesture and that of the entire Ahiazu people by in turn giving an Ahiazu son the party mandate come 2015. Chief Adi further charged sons and daughters of Ahiazu to embrace the movement in other to form a formidable front so as to appeal and negotiate to other LGAs’ in Imo State to support the Ahiazu agenda.
In his comments, Chief Leo Okeahialam recalled the great support of the people of Ahiazu Mbaise to the emergence of Dee Sam Mbakwe of blessed memory, Former Governor Achike Udenwa, Chief Ikedi Ohakim and also the present administration and noted that it is very indispensable that an Ahiazu son be supported in the forth coming gubernatorial race.
In his speech, Chief Paddy Morre Anyanwu stated that it is most appropriate for Ahiazu to produce the next governor of Imo State and stressed on the need for a marketable and humble candidate with a humane disposition. Above all, somebody intellectually robust that will be acceptable by other LGA’s and zones.
In his words, Chief Tony Dimegwu noted that Ahiazu has always given unalloyed and overwhelming support to past and present governor(s) that have emerged in Imo State pointing out that it will be worthwhile for other sister local governments in Imo State to reciprocate the good gesture of Ahiazu people by in turn supporting their son come 2015.
In his view, Hon Tony Ahunanya pointed out that it goes beyond rhetoric’s to produce a state governor stressing that the Ahiazu Agenda should be implemented and advised that a strategic committee be set up to identify the approach to be adopted so as to realize the objective of the movement.
In his opinion Ban. Charles Onyirimba noted that the idea was a noble one for the people to come together to discuss their political fate in the polity of Imo State and urged all Ahiazu sons and daughters to come together to propagate the good message and advised them not to allow personal interest to override the general interest of Ahiazu Mbaise and Imo State in general pointing out that the choice of Ahiazu people for Imo Chief Executive is for the good and benefit of the entire Imo State.
In attendance for the meeting were former Sole Administrator of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA Chief Leo Okeahialam, Erstwhile member representing Ahiazu Mbaise state constituency Hon Pius Nwoga, Chief Paddy Morre Anyanwu, Ex Vice Chairman Ahiazu Mbaise LGA Hon Magnus Chigbu, Hon Chinedu Acholonu, Chief Larry Chikwe, Chief Tony Dimegwu, Hon Tony Ahunanya, Hon Richard Iwu, past and present PDP ward Chairmen in Ahiazu Mbaise, women and youth leaders from the twelve wards and also former councilors from the area.
The meeting ended in Unisom and motion for adjournment was moved by Hon Richard Iwu.
