Nwosu Donates Soccer Trophy For
Eziama-obaire In Nkwere LGA

All is now set for the inaugural kick-off ceremony of Comrade Uche Nwosu Unity Football Competition for the people of Eziama-Obaire Community in Nkwere Local Government Area tagged “Eziama-Obaire Unity Cup”.
Addressing the crowd who gathered at his palace home, the Commissioner for Lands and donor of the trophy who won awards for his total dedication and innovative working skills stressed that youths must endeavor to be steadfast in their fields of work especially football while retreating his willingness to support any outstanding youth from the Community that distinguishes himself.
Continuing, Comrade Nwosu whom his people gave the title, Ugwumba of Eziama-Obaire revealed his plans to give out balls, jersey’s, nets, boots and transportation fare to all the participating teams to enable them execute the competition successfully.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman Chief Ajawuike Kenneth told Trumpeta that the competition which will kick-off on December 8 will see the participating teams take up names of European Clubs like AC Milan, Man United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona, Chelsea etc to add glamour to the soccer feaster.
In his own statement, SA to the donor Hon Ike Okigboanunwa stated that the soccer competition is one of the numerous programs Comrade Nwosu has designed to empower youths of his community as well as help to change their mind set from social vices assuring the Commissioner of an entertaining and healthy soccer feaster.
The winner of the giant trophy will go home with the sum of N300, 000 while the runners-up and the 2nd runners-up will also take home N200, 000 and N100, 000 respectively.

The Second Edition of the Sweet Apple Football Competition kicked off with funfair at the Iho Central Stadium in Ikeduru Local Government Area on Saturday November 16.
The event attracted major dignitaries and a mammoth crowd as the people of Ikeduru LGA gathered to celebrate their illustrious son, Chief Dennis Okwu who in his philanthropic nature instituted the Soccer championship to help discover, nurture and expose talents from Ikeduru.
Addressing the crowd, the donor popularly Known as Sweet-Apple described Ikeduru as a unique Local Government that parades so many politicians and nation builders in the past and present as well as potential great footballers. He therefore called on his people to help actualize his dream of raising a child that will one day fly the flag of Nigeria from Ikeduru.
Also speaking, the special guest of the event, Prince Charles Amadi (Chavon), a great OZOPOLF leader commended the efforts of Chief Okwu, while urging the youths of Ikeduru to make good use of the opportunity.
In his own reaction, the honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Comrade Kenneth Emelu stated that the donor has through football helped to reduce crime in the state adding that with the achievements of the four Eaglets from Imo State and their assistant gaffer, Emmanuel Amuneke, the sky is the limit of every player that performs well in the competition.
He however emphasized that his promise during last year’s edition of taking the best two players to train with Heartland football club still stands.
About 12 communities are participating in this year’s edition as the host team Iho defeated Akabo the defending champions 1 0 in the opening game on Saturdays
Also at the event were HRH Ebi 1 of Ebikoro, Captain Arinze, Chief Chalton Osuagwu, Uche Ogbuagu, Heartland fc Team Manager, Promise Nwachukwu, Coach Bob Acholonu and other OZOPOLF leaders.

Chief Emma Okewulonu’s Unity Cup Kicks-off In Ehime-Mbano
…As Ikeoha Promise to Sponsor Best Players to Europe
The second face of Chief Emma Okewulonu’s Unity Football Competition was on Sunday November 17 kicked-off at St Patrick’s Central School field, Umuezeala in Ehime-Mbano Local Government Area.
The competition which was instituted by IKEOHA Obowo to unite the people of Okigwe-South Federal Constituency comprising Obowo, Ihitte-Uboma and Ehime-Mbano LGA’s witnessed a large turnout of men and women, young and old who trooped out en-mass to cheer IKEOHA for finding it worthy to empower youths of the area through football tagged Ikeoha Unity Cup 2013.
Welcoming Chief Okewulonu and his entourage to the venue, the co-coordinator of the competition, Ehime-Mbano Zone Sir S U Orike described Ikeoha as a God sent stating that the entire 31 Communities participating in the competition were given jerseys, footballs and many other sporting materials to enable each team have an equal opportunity, while Chief A Onyeahialam an elder statesman from Ehime-Mbano added that Ikeoha has shown his love for Okigwe-South noting that with people like him, Imolites can be assured of a better future.
In his reaction, Ikeoha thanked the people of Ehime-Mbano for their support and encouragement promising not to relent in his effort in providing good life for Okigwe-South. He praised the players for exhibiting quality skills advising them not relent as they can sower as high as Kelechi Iheanacho and other Eaglets who won the U-17 World cup in UAE, assuring the provision of free medical treatments for the players whenever they get injured.
He also thanked Mrs Franca Onuoha and her NGO Group, LAFEM Empowerment and Advancement Initiative for their total support to the event that will in future produce potential leaders of Okigwe-South.
The in Umuezeala ended 1 0 against Umueze 11/Umueleke while that of Okenalowo Primary School field between Amuzi and Amainyi ended 2 0 in favor of the away team (Amainyi) as the competition will continue till Easter next year.

Roche Football Competition Kicks-Off In Irete
Roche Group, a construction company based in Irete Autonomous Community in Owerri West local Government Area, Imo State, kicked off on Sunday 17th November, 2013, at Bishop Lisbery Girls secondary Umuekune 1-0.
At the kick-off of the tournament, the Managing Director of Roche Group, Mr Paul Roche, explained that the competition involves all the villages in Irete community maintaining that first, second and third placed teams of the championship has special prizes each.
In an interview, the president of Irete youth Community Government Council (CGC), Comrade Frank Uche Akujuobi, said the tournament was geared to integrate the youths of the area, as well as to discourage them from social vices. He maintained that the best player of the competition goes home with a boot.
In his comment, the community Liaison Officer of Irete, Hon Nze Nnadi Okenwa stated that the championship is a wonderful thing as it will create avenues for the entire community to come together and hobnob, pointing out that the tournament is organized between the 7 zones of Irete community.
The Irete CLO frowned upon the ill-manner of some Irete sons and daughters who wrote to coca koala that “the annual football competition organizes for the community must not continue so that there will not be trouble in the area as the result of the match”, the CLO harps.
