Dr. Chris Ezuma, who hails from Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, has emerged the governorship candidate of Alliance for United Nigeria (AUN).
The primaries of the party which took place at Fidrock Hotel, Owerri on Saturday 6 October, 2018 was supervised by officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
Expressing satisfaction at the outcome of the exercise, the State Chairman of the party Mr. Isaac Iwuanyanwu told journalists that” the party is now set to take over Imo State Government House come 2019 with the calibre of the candidates that eventually emerged as the party’s standard bearer”.
In his acceptance speech, Ezuma pledged to take Imo State to the next level with a governance model that is in consonance with global best practices.
Among the areas of priority to be tacked by his administration if elected Governor include quality education, improved healthcare system, mechanized agriculture, adequate supply of electricity, infrastructural development and security.
Among the personalities present at the event were State Secretary Hon. Eugene Aligekwe, State Organizing Secretary, Hon. Steve Amaechi, State Auditor, Hon. Christopher Anyikamba, State Financial Secretary, Hon. Nwachukwu Nnanna and the 27 L.G.A. Chairmen of the party.
