…Members Dump Party In Droves, Move To NDC

All appears not to be well around the Africa Democratic Congress, ADC, Imo State chapter following the sudden departure of Peter Obi from the party to another one.

Before now, ADC under Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and Chief Emeka Nwajiuba as arrowheads had been growing until the announcement of Obi’s defection to NDC.

The mass defection that hit the party at the wake of Obi’s move has affected the Imo State chapter.

More disturbing is that those who had been partners in progress with a leader of the party in the state, Ihedioha are leaving the party in droves to NDP.

Trumpeta learnt that trouble started when it was announced that Obi was leaving for another party.

Immediately, notable and unknown followers of Ihedioha and Nwajiuba sought political refuge elsewhere.

Available data of movement arising from Trumpeta findings shows that a former diehard of Ihedioha, Hon Uche Onyeagucha already gunning for the ADC ticket for Owerri immediately tendered his resignation and said to have pitched tent with the NDP, the party Obi recently joined.

Onyeagucha, who served as Secretary of the State Government within the period Ihedioha held sway in Government House, Owerri as governor left with majority of his supporters purported to have been handed positions as either party officials or candidates of NDP in next year’s elections.

Aside from Onyeagucha leaving ADC with his followers, unconfirmed reports also have it that Nwajiuba is on his way out to another party named ADP.

Trumpeta has it that during the sharing formula for party positions, the two kingpins who had benefited were Ihedioha and Nwajiuba. His rumoured exit is another blow to the foundation of ADC in Imo State.

It was gathered that while Ihedioha is not in the mood to embark on another party junketing, his followers kept faith with him in ADC while others seeking to use the Obi factor win the next election moved to NDC.
