There is fresh anxiety in Imo State following the place those who tested positive to Coronavirus in Imo State are kept at the moment.
It would be recalled that news broke out few days ago of about 25 persons testing positive in Imo State.
Even as details of their identities are not yet made public, their present location after testing public is frightening residents of the State.
Reacting on this development during a briefing at Government House Owerri on Tuesday the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Maurice Iwu said that only one out of the 25 was destined for Owerri and is already in one of the Isolation centers, fueling fears that rest comprising 24 persons may have infiltrated the society.
A cross section of Imolites who spoke to Trumpeta after the news hit the airwaves expressed shock over the announcement, regretting that the sad news came barely a week the Task Force had declared Imo State coronavirus free.
Prof Iwu had said, “as a result of the vigilance of the Committee in collaboration with the security agencies who intercepted some vehicles carrying passengers across the State, and on subjecting the commuters to COVID-19 testing, it was discovered that 25, out of the 96 passengers tested positive to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.” Iwu didn’t inform the public the current location of the suspected carriers.
Tongues are wagging that the suspects would have been quarantined and kept away from the society than be allowed to either leave the state or move to another location.
