Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper insists Taiwo Awoniyi will bounce back stronger from his latest injury setback.
The Nigeria international is currently sidelined with a groin injury.
The 26-year-old is expected to spend around one month on the sidelines.
The injury also forced the striker to pull out of Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
Awoniyi also missed a few weeks of action due to a similar groin problem last season.
The forward returned to spearhead Nottingham Forest’s Premier League survival.
Cooper has backed the striker to deliver again when he returns from injury.
“Of course, it is a blow, he’s [Awoniyi] been our man up front,” Cooper told the Nottingham Post.
“He’s out for a month. He did it in the game against Brentford.
“He’s been injured before and came back really strong, so he knows he can do it. He’ll commit to that.”
Awoniyi has scored three times in the Premier League this season.
