Deputy Minority Leader Kicks Against Dormant Commissioners, Calls For Cabinet Reshuffle

Apparently appalled by the laissez-faire attitude of some of the Commissioners in Imo State, a member of the Imo State House of Assembly has called for an overhaul in the Executive cabinet.

The member and Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Clinton Amadi while reacting to a motion on the need for an inclusion of Imo State in the federal government’s housing scheme, blamed the State’s exclusion from the docility of the Housing commissioner.

He argued that if the Housing Commissioner and other Commisisoners in Imo State were active enough, the State would not be left out in the FG’s ongoing housing scheme.

Reacting further, he said, if not for the governor’s relationship with the federal government and his knack to attract democracy dividends to the state, there would be nothing to be attributed to the Commissioners.

Sequel to this, Amadi asked that rather than still keeping the dormant ones as Commissioners, governor Uzodimma should as a matter of necessity rejig and disengage those inactive ones to make way for vibrant excos.

“Imo cannot continue to have commissioners who do not know their jobs while the State misses out from opportunities that can benefit us as a people. It is better they are sacked and new persons appointed to fill in the gap”, he said.
