Charter of Equity Should Be Obeyed In Imo – Chukwueke

The chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP contact and Mobilization Committee, Imo State, Chief Jerry Chukwueke has declared that the expectation of Imo People in 2015 Gubernatorial election in the state is that the charter of equity which allows for each of the three political zones to test power at the centre, is maintained.
Speaking to Trumpeta in his Residence at Awaka in Owerri North LGA, Chukwueke disclosed that for equity, fairness and justice, Owerri people should be allowed to produce who hoists PDP’s flag in the next governorship election in the state.
The business mogul, cum politician said that Owerri people have maintained calmness and support to PDP while the position went through other zones, adding that the time to recognize the area is now, at least for their patient and accommodation of other zones all these while.
Chukwueke said that the argument that Okigwe zone should be allowed to complete their second term in 2015 is a wrong logic, pointing out that the PDP gave its 2011 gubernatorial ticket to an Okigwe son, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, who unfortunately lost the election, an indication that Okigwe has been fully compensated by PDP.
He expressed happiness that his contact and mobilization committee has fully rebranded Imo PDP and reinvigorated its members, who are now set to reclaim the seat of power in 2015, as they have vowed not to allow the mistake of 2011 to repeat itself.
Chukwueke disclosed that the National chairman of the PDP Alhaji Adamu Muazu has made it clear that there will not be imposition, consensus or rigging-in of candidates, in order to avoid implosion within the party,
The PDP Chieftain said the massive turn-outs of PDP members who received the committee at each stop was an indication that Imo PDP members are set to clean the stakes ion 2015.
He said that the time for money politics was over as the masses are looking for people who will deliver service and dividends of democracy, pointing out that this time around only politicians with people’s interest would be elected into positions.
Chukwueke said the committee has only Oru East, Ideato South and North NGAs to complete its tour, before embarking on special mobilizations, which targets Artisans, Market Women, Students, Journalists, Civil Servants, etc.
