Imo House Leader, Ihuoma Rescues Another Abandoned Mother In Hospital

To prove that her kind gesture and her philanthropic dispositions as practically demonstrated by rescuing a mother of triplets at the Umuokrika Hospital and Maternity, Ekwerazu Mbaise, by footing her hospital bill after delivery, provision of baby clothes, bag of rice and other items, as well as handing over a completed two-bed room bungalow to a widow both in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA and the massive empowerment of the less-privileged individuals carried out in the three autonomous community of Umuokrika; Okrikama and Okrikama/Umugwa of Okrikanwenkwo forth-night ago were not borne out mere political posturing aimed at scoring political goal for herself; female lawmaker representing Ahiazu Mbaise state constituency in the Imo state House of Assembly, Hon (Mrs) Adaku Ihuoma on Tuesday, August 19,2014, repeated the singular gesture, by rescuing another woman outside her constituency, who hails from Lorji in Aboh Mbaise state constituency said to have been abandoned’ by her husband and immediate family on receiving the news of her still-child delivery through caesarian section.
According to the female lawmaker, Hon (Mrs) Adaku Ihuoma, who opened up to roving newsmen, who sighted her at the Cecilia Memorial Hospital, Ogbe in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, urged other politicians to borrow a leaf from her gesture that has no political undertone; the rescued mother of about three children, had been “abandoned” at the said hospital for about four months running, as the Lady had nearly languished resulting from hunger and other minor illnesses.
On how the lawmaker traced the abandoned” mother whose baby died after delivery, to the hospital since she the (abandoned mother) does not hail from her constituency; Hon Ihuoma, disclosed that she was touched by the narration of the rescued mother when she contacted her (the lawmaker) on phone concerning her helpless condition at the hospital.
“My dear, just in the evening recently, my phone rang and I picked the call. When I could not understand what the caller was saying, I had to end the call and then called back inorder to get the main gist. Due to fluctuating to text message, which I received in my phone.
“What I could comprehend from the message was actually that there was a patient abandoned by her fleeing husband and family members at Cecilia Memorial Hospital about four months now. When I put some questions across, I further discovered that the lady comes from Lorji in Aboh Mbaise LGA. I first wondered whether, there could be no well-to-do individuals from Aboh Mbaise who could render any assistance to that effect other than myself who is from Ahiazu.
“My further inquiries about the lady confirmed her helpless condition; hence, I decided to rally round with my supporters to see that the situation the Lady found herself was visited. Thank God, we could pay up her hospital bill and other attendant circumstances”, Hon Ihuoma who is now ascribed as mother Theresa of the century softly explained.
Shortly after performing the payment exercise by the woman lawmaker supported strongly by her supporters and campaign team; the Aboh Mbaise born rescued patient Mrs Nwachukwu Anulika broke in tears of joy holding the female lawmaker firmly as she (mrs Nwachukwu) sang unto God and therefore called upon God to prosper her Praying further that no weapon ever fashioned against Hon Adaku Ihuoma shall prosper.
In their reactions, the resident medical doctor of the Hospital who was said have carried out the operation during the woman’s delivery, Dr Chukwu Chukwudi described the hospital bill footed by the lawmaker as act that touches the heart and prayed God to prosper her in all for endeavours,
Also Hon Lawrence Agulanna Chairman DG-Adaku campaign council for Ahaizu/Ezinihitte 2015 Federal House Seat Chief Paul Ogbonna, Hon Titus Anyanwu, Engr. Chinedu Otuechere, Comrade Uchenna Iwuchukwu among others described the gesture demonstrated by the lawmaker as singular and first of its kind in the political history of Ahiazu Mbaise.
It would be recalled that the hospital Chief attendant had received a cheque for the bill of the patient on behalf of the management of the Hospital owned by a lawmaker representing Ezinihitte Mbaise state constituency in the state House, Hon Obioma Ekennia among other cash donation and items provided by the lawmaker to revive the abandoned patient whose health condition had deteriorated on sight.
