Obowo LGA Chairman applauds Appeal Court Judgement

Executive Chairman of Obowo Local Government Council Chief Basil Ekwe has given kudos to the Justice Mustafa Appeal Court Judgement which recently declared as illegal and unconstitutional the dissolution of Local Government Councils in Imo state by Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Chief Ekwe who spoke during stakeholders/leadership meeting of PDP members from Obowo, Imo state described the Judgement as a victory for PDP as a political party.

“It was a victory for PDP, a triumph for Democracy and indeed a manifestation of the Supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law”.

Speaking also, member representing Obowo State Constituency at the State House of Assembly Hon. Celestine Ngobiwu admonished his constituents on the need to be law abiding always.

Ngobiwu further told the people about some of his gaint strides and effort as their representative in ensuring that they enjoy the benefits of democracy and solicited for their patience.

Other stakeholders who attended the meeting also proffered solutions on how to strengthen democracy and the need for leaders to synergise with the masses with the aim of providing them with their required needs.

The meeting also afforded the people the opportunity to pass a vote of confidence on the PDP Local Government Chairman of Obowo Chief Godson Nwaobasi and his team for their exemplary leadership qualities and quick interventionist strategies in crisis management and grass politics.
