The wife of the Governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha says her pet project, “She Need A Roof Project” (SNARP) has so far built and furnished about one hundred and fifty-two bungalows for indigent widows across the local governments of the state.
She disclosed this in her office during an interactive session she had with Imo State based Newspaper Publishers during which video clips of some of her achievements were highlighted.
According to her, “partner me, I feel like flying to achieve and I need a team like you all to fly with”. She described as absurd anybody who takes the media for granted because it is only the media that can sensitize the public on the activities of the government.
Nneoma Okorocha used the occasion to appeal to people of the state not to misconstrue some developmental strides taken by the Owelle-led administration pointing out that the husband was very passionate about making Imo State a modern model state.
She then thanked the publishers for the various contributions they made in the course of the forum and assured that she was prepared to listen and learn at all times.
In her contribution, a former commissioner in the state, Barrister Ugochi Nnanna Okoro described Nneoma Okorocha as a gift to humanity who deserves all supports.
She urged the press to a times take politics apart in their write-ups and tell the public the truth which does not necessarily imply praising the government of the day.
Reacting also, the Director-General, Imo Foundation, Dr Ngozi Njoku described the publishers as role models who always play the role of the voice of the voiceless.
She thanked the publishers for being very supportive to the efforts of Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha. Many Women of Substance were present at the forum among them are Mrs Ngozie Ibeagi, the permanent secretary of ministry of Information and Strategy as well as the DG, IBC Owerri, Evangelist Esther Obong Egbuna.
