Business men operating business venture along Wetheral road, Owerri have began removing their fences for fear of being destroyed during the ongoing demolition carried out by the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA).According to investigations by Imo Trumpeta, banks and other private businesses, have contacted labourers assist them pulling down their fences and remove the irons in them.
The resort to self help by operators of business organizations may not be unconnected with the fear that if OCDA handle the demolitions, when themselves, they may end up destroying some parts of the premises.
Imo Trumpeta visited one of the Banks along Wetheral road they have contracted labourers to pull down its fence.
Meanwhile, it has been discovered that the fence of the Family Support Programm (FSP) and that of Mann Street Primary School that were left untouched by OCDA during the first demolition exercise have now been pulled down. However work has continued on the new fence ofTownshipPrimary School, along Wetheral road.
