Jamo

With the increasing trend of contemporary music globally, it’s seemingly objective to say that real music as defined by an Imo based musicologist will continue to be suppressed despite its long history and low recognition over the years by music lovers.

Speaking to Trumpeta extravaganza recently at Concord hotel Owerri, Elder John Amarachukeu Michael Onyebuchi AKA “JAMO”, a musicologist/pianist said that contemporary music/musicians can never be compared to real musicians because they lack the basics of music (music education).

The Obowu born pianist who described real music as “Heavenly” said that such music/musicians are rear in our modern day as he categorized them as “Hidden Talents” which according to him some seek no popularity on like contemporary musicians of today.

According to him “real music is a sound from heaven, English possesses all the condiments of real music, Real music is used to praise Almighty God, and it heals the soul. When Lucifer was rejected in heaven, he invented the contemporary music, contemporary music/musicians may not re-trace their steps to real music because they will find it difficult to under-go music education” he concluded.
