Emma Ojinere

A Group of Youths from Ahiazu Mbaise LGA in Imo State yesterday trooped into the Corporate Head office of Trumpeta Newspaper, Owerri on what they described as a peaceful mission in view of a publication made by the Newspaper in its Tuesday edition with the caption “Board Membership: Govt Appointees Flex Muscles Before Governor”.

The spokesman of the Youths, Barr Magnus Osuagwu said they came to put the records straight as it concerns their Leader, Engr Emma Ojinere, describing the said publication as meant to shore up the image of Engr Chidi Ibe who seems to seek relevance through their Leader, Ojinere.

The youths maintained that their concern in the said publication was where it was stated that Engr Chidi Ibe is Ojinere’s senior in the Rescue Mission Government of Governor Rochas Okorocha and led him into the Group.

“In the first place, in 2007 Ojinere had joined the race to Governor Imo State, in 2011 he contested for Senate and was asked to step down. So, can such a politician of that calibre be directed or led into Rescue Mission? In age, Ibe is not his mate and politically he is not on the same level with Chidi Ibe. Note that we are not here to malign Engr Ibe but to set the records straight. Moreover, both are great sons of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA” they said.

Emma Ojinere, they maintained, is such a man of himself with the political and financial muscle to chart his own course, and therefore an insult for anybody to say that Ojinere was led into Rescue Mission by anybody.

On the issue of the Board members list from Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, which was said to have be taken from Ojinere and torn into pieces by Chidi Ibe, they described that as the height of imagination by the Reporter who wrote the story as that never happened.

“Ojinere, if you know him, is a gentleman to the core, and therefore could not have compiled the list from Ahiazu Mbaise without consulting everybody. So, the incident so described did not happen” the youths chorused.

They warned that no person should use the name of their Principal to seek for political relevance as Ojinere has passed such level, adding that any more attempt to malign their principal would attract legal solution, as Ojinere has attained a top height in Imo politics nay Nigeria.
