A Governorship Aspirant under the platform of Action Democratic Party, ADP, Sir Paschal Ejiogu has made it clear that what Imo State needs after Owelle Rochas Okorocha has quit office in 2019, is a person who can think outside the Box, because Imo will be in shambles when Okorocha leaves.

Making his intension to run for Imo Governorship seat in 2019 known to Newsmen in Owerri, the University of Nigeria UNN Trained Industrial Chemist, but now a successful Business man based in the United States of America, with numerous companies in Nigeria, maintained that the case of Imo State now needs an emergency to take it out from its present economic predicament which has seen all the sectors of the State destroyed because of Okorocha’s bizarre policies.

The Youthful Governorship Aspirant who hails from Oguta LGA, but was born and has lived all his life in Owerri, said he will take a short time to upturn all that has been rendered prostrate by the outgoing Okorocha’s administration.

He lamented the ugly situation of the Education, Housing, Health, Tourism, Security sectors, and especially the teeming unemployed Imo youths, now posing a big challenge to the State.

“There is no more civil service in Imo State. Old people are neglected and abandoned by the State Government to die without their pensions. Civil Servants are disrespected. Gratuities are owed for years. Salaries are now a privilege by State Government” he lamented.

He said that what Imo needs now is to increase its internally generated revenue so as to be able to have funds to work for the people than depending solely on Federal Allocation alone.

“Tourism can bring stupendous income into Imo State. What does it need to turn Oguta Lake to one of the best Tourist centers in Nigeria? Do you know how much Kenya makes from Tourism?” the Guber hopeful queries.

Ejiogu said that Imo State presently is Bankrupt, which is the reason Okorocha cannot pay salaries to workers.

On why he in the race even though he is from Orlu zone, the Governorship Aspirant replied that zoning breeds mediocrity, but added that he was born in Owerri where he has lived all his life and therefore is from Owerri by birth, pointing out that the majority of people in his campaign team are people of Owerri zone, adding that time has come for a person born and bred in Owerri to be the Governor of Imo State.
