Following the recent chairmanship, councillorship election held in Imo by Okorocha led rescue mission government.
A new dimension has taken place as the Daniel Madueke Nwafor led faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC) backed by Imo State Governor Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, cancelled the recently held party primaries Organized by the Agburu faction of the APC for the conduct of local government chairmanship and councillorship elections across the 27 Local Government Areas in the State.
This was made known through a press statement made available to Ifeanyi-cy.Com by Nwafor led factional secretary, Mr Ireagwu Obioma, the statement also revealed that a new date for the conducts of the chairmanship and councillorship primaries will be fixed, it reads “party members, general public, concerned agencies and institutions are to know that the recently conducted LGA primary election has been cancelled, the party regrets the conveniences the cancellation may cause our party members and aspirants.
Meanwhile Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha has promised to conduct local government area, chairmanship and councillorship election for the 19th times since assumption of office in May 29, 2011, members of the party and rescue missionaries are spending their hard earned monies paying for party tickets, buying forms, paying taxes only to see the reverse at the end of the day after wasting energy and money, with no compensation or refund of money.
It will be recalled that the erstwhile acting chairman of Okorocha led APC faction in Imo State, Chris Oguoma is at the losing end of these unfolding, initially, he was at the background of the party activities but later lost out, the name of Nwafor knocked him off the board, though available at the congresses to undertake the final function before handing over to Nwafor.
