A political gladiator, opinion molder and grassroots mobilizer in the state, High Chief Ebenezer Ekwebelem, has described the emergence of Mass Action Joint Alliance MAJA) party and its Imo State governorship candidate, Barr. Aloysius Osuji on the country’s political firmament as a blessing and divine intervention, aimed at edifying the numerous anomalies in the polity and fast track the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the state.

The former APC stalwart stated this over the weekend, in his expansive Umunwafor, Ikeduru, country home, while addressing over 3,000 POP APC and APGA members who dumped their political parties and joined MAJA party.

Chief Ekwebelem said that Imo people who have been impoverished, short changed and subjected to all kinds of impunity, agonizing pain and hardship by the present government need a focused, articulate, prudent and tested manager of men and resources like Barr. Osuji, who is contesting the governorship election on the platform of a peaceful political part. “MAJA party, comprises men and women of ideas, integrity, vision and impeccable track record who see leadership as call to service, as opposed to career politicians whose only interests are to loot the treasury, appropriate peoples properties, demolish markets, offices and homes without paying compensation. God has intervened by raising Barr. Osuji and other MAJA party candidates as credible alternatives to liberate Imolites from the bondage of pain, agony and/maladministration.”

Dr. Vincent Uka and Nze Dr. Valentine Akujuobi who spoke on behalf of the decampees, said they dumped their parties and joined MAJA party because of its people-oriented manifesto, peace, harmony, internal democracy, cohesion and mutual understanding that exists between the leadership and members of the party at all levels, unlike the APC, APGA and others that are engaged in various court cases, internal wranglings, mudslinging and rancour. “Besides, Barr. Aloysius Osuji, from all indications is the best, most credible and qualified of all the governorship candidates in the state. He has not been in government, yet he has empowered youths, women and contributed immensely towards the infrastructural development of various communities in the state, offered scholarships to several indigent students, among other commitments”.

In his speech, the state chairman of MAJA party, Hon. Reuben Obijiaku, who led other stalwarts of the party to welcome the decampees, commended them for their wisdom and courage. He also thanked them for believing in the party and its governorship candidate.

He assured that the MAJA party governorship candidate, Barr Osuji, will establish a transparent, responsive, accountable and committed government, build a sustainable state that will enhance human capital development, provide infrastructure, secure lives and property and boost access to investment opportunities for the good of our people.

He also stressed the need for them to obtain their PVCs and vote for credible candidates that will provide quality and effective leadership at all levels.
