No Traditional Ruler in Ohaji/Egbema Was Involved In Kidnapping —Council

Traditional rulers in the oil rich Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State has refuted the news making the rounds both in the social media and in the radio that a traditional ruler from Awarra community was involved in a kidnapping incident in the state
The  Council of Traditional Rulers in Ohaji/Egbema in their statement jointly endorsed by HRH Eze Dr.S A.Okwodu Dike of Obuoma Dike, chairman and HRH Eze. Sir, Emma C.N.Odunze, Eze Ukwu Chinyere of Obitti community, Secretary  issued in Owerri maintained that Mr.Andrew Okwuegbunwa who was paraded by the Imo State Police Command for his involvement in a kidnap incident is neither a recognized traditional ruler in Ohaji/Egbema nor anywhere in Imo State
Describing it as an impersonation, the council said that the only two recognized autonomous communities in Awarra include Ochia autonomous community and Awarra autonomous community
There recognized traditional rulers according to the council include HRH Eze (Barr.) Ekwueme P. Ekwueme and HRH Eze A.N.Ezenwoke as the case may be
The council of the traditional rulers strongly frowned at the news that Mr.Andrew Okwuegbunwa is a traditional ruler when in actually face he is not
The body called on the Imo State commissioner of Police to retract the publication and render an apology to the traditional rulers of Ohaji/Egbema and Imo State in general for discrediting the image of the traditional institution in Ohaji/Egbema
