Apologists of former Governor of Imo State, now Senator representing Imo West in the Senate, Senator Rochas Okorocha, are at loggerhead with men answerable to the incumbent Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, over claims on infrastructural projects in the State.
Governor Uzodinma’s aides had early last week launched campaigns in support of the one year anniversary of the 3R Government.
Part of the activities marking the anticipated celebration are the reeling out of achievements, believed to have been made by Uzodinma-led administration since one year it came into power.
Based on the program of the anniversary, Hope New Electronic Media Centre, a department that is incharge of the Governor’s social media activities outlined some of the projects they felt were constructed and rehabilitated under the past one year.
Trouble ensued when Okorocha’s men challenged the veracity of the claim by Uzodinma’s media team on the construction of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, ISOPADEC building.
At first, Okorocha’s media aide, did not only caution the  media crew of Gov Uzodinma on claiming projects built by his predecessor, but he also described such act as daylight theft.
Okorocha’s aide in an online reaction to the Uzodinma’s claim wrote, “Those behind Hope New Electronic Media Centre, you guys have now gone haywire. You are now crediting everything in Imo to your “Shared Prosperity Government” in the absence of genuine projects by the government;
“Claiming or portraying the Ultra modern ISOPADEC Headquarters built by Rochas Okorocha as Governor Hope Uzodinma’s project, is both criminal and ungodly. You guys should stop this irritating action”.
The fight didn’t end there, as it took the centre stage on the internet, where both parties involved rain abuses on each other Principals.
On the other hand, Uzodinma’s men in defense attributed claims by Okorocha’s supporters as not only laughable, but act of ignorance.
They asked if Rochas Okorocha left the State with any complete blocks without cracks, which Hope Uzodinma fixed on assumption of office and made functioning.
It could be recalled that since the enthronement of Uzodinma’s government, there has been internal wrangling bedevilling the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.
Till date, both warring factions led by Chief Dan Nwafor and Chief Marcon Nlemigbo are fighting for the soul of the party in the State, with each camp parading different Court verdicts in their favor.
Another twist can be seen in the demolition of some infrastructural facilities built by the 8 years administration of the Rescue Mission government by his predecessor, Hope Uzodinma, which have received bullets from Okorocha’s camp.
