Chike Okafor Distributes Equipment Worth N60m To Health Centers

The member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Chike John Okafor has distributed equipment worth N60million to health centres in the constituency.
The equipment were handed over to heads of benefiting communities penultimate Wednesday at Otoko, headquarters of Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State.
Hon Okafor had while serving as Chairman, House Committee on Healthcare Services reactivated the healthcare institutions in his constituency and organized annual free comprehensive medical outreaches during which major and minor surgeries were performed.
The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Obowo Local Government Area, Sir CC Ihejirika who performed the distribution on behalf of the lawmaker, commended him for his benevolence and developmental strides.
Ihjirika noted that the legislator has helped to revamp the health sector and restored confidence in the people of Obowo LGA and Okigwe South Federal Constituency.
Heads of benefiting communities who took delivery of the equipment poured encomiums for the benevolence and magnanimity of the legislator.
They described Hon. Okafor as a leading light in the development of the federal constituency.
Hon Ebere Ugo of Ehume Ward said; “the least thing expected by Ehume people is an intervention of this nature. It can only take a person with genuine leadership call to intervene in situations like this where even the government didn’t care.
Both Chief Linus  Obasi of Umuokeh Autonomous Community and Chief Anthony Okeke of Amato thanked the federal lawmaker for such rare gesture and  benevolence.
They added that the good tidings about the development would surely rekindle the hope and boost the morale of indigenes of the communities.
Dignitaries who were present at the Council Headquarters on the day were Hon Kennedy Ibeh, member for Obowo State Constituency in the state House of Assembly; Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Imo State; Chief Longers Anyanwu, a former Commissioner for Agriculture and APC chieftain; Chief Francis Ihechere, retired Commissioner of Police and Chief Emeka William Nwigwe, oil magnate.
