Ngor Okpala Community Honours Ekpe With Chieftaincy Title Dec 19

The people of Umuhu Autonomous Community,in Ngor Okpala LGA,IMO State, will honour one of its illustrious sons,Chief Henry Ekpe with a Chieftaincy title of NWACHINEMERE 1 OF UMUHU.

In letter from the Palace of His Royal Highness, Eze Basil Anyanwu,it pleased the Community to induct Ekpe into the Eze-In-Council of the Community with the title as honour and recognition of his numerous contributions to his immediate Community.

Reacting to the issue, Ekpe who has Chieftaincy titles before now said it was a great honour to pick this one from his ancestral home.

“Yes, I have two Chieftaincy titles already before now,but I cherish this particular one because it is a thing of joy that it came from my people, my ancentral home,which qualifies me to Sit In Eze-In Council and contribute my little quota on how best to develop my Community. Charity,they say begins at home” the Former Press Secretary (CPS )to Gov Ikedi Ohakim said.

He maintained that such an honour demands a great sacrifice to serve the people, adding that Communities are grass roots where developments should rest on the people as their own contributions to the larger society.

The Ace Journalist maintained that when men of Quality are included in decision makings in the villages it will reflect in laudable projects and policies in Communities, and called for peace and love among the people of Umuhu Community, Ngor Okpala and Imo State in general.

The Community Leader said he is proud to be recognized in his Community after he had served at LGA,State and National levels in various capacities of endeavor.
