FIRST IMO TRADE EXPO, CULTURAL FESTIVAL FOR DECEMBER

All is now set for the sleepy but peaceful ancient city of Mgbidi, the Headquarter of Oru West council area of Imo State is seriously poised to be agog for one month following the hosting of the first ever Trade Expo and Cultural Festival.

 

According Alhaji Abubakar Ozoh, the Mayor of Mgbidi who is also the brain behind the two famous events told journalists during an interaction that the Mgbidi Trade Expo and Cultural Festival which is being organized by the Imo State New City Development Committee, Mgbidi Mayoral in collaboration with Beklean Design Concept Lagos will kick start on Saturday 15th December.

 

Alhaji Ozoh further pointed out that the trade and cultural fiesta which is also being piloted under the auspices of Rescue Mission Cooperative Scheme has the theme: Entrenching A Sense of Development in Community Governance in Imo State.

 

The Mayor also noted that the 4 weeks trade and cultural initiative events will be geared towards championing the need to promote trade associations, real time buying, selling competition and to enrich the cultural heritage of the people of Oru East and Oru West Council Areas with pop and pageantry.

 

He further informed that the events will also feature community awards presentation to 10 distinguished personalities of the council areas and also community awards for 10 corporate social responsibility for organizations resident in Mgbidi and its environ.

 

In his contributions, Hon. Donatus Ozoemena, the Deputy Speaker, Imo House of Assembly and one of the frontline facilitator of the events noted that the strategic geographical position of Mgbidi community will contribute immensely in the success of the events.

 

Hon. Ozoemena who showered praises to Governor Rochas Okorocha for his committed vision and mission in accelerated rural development and the infrastructural transformation.

 

He also insisted that the events will usher in political liberalization, Macro-Economic reformation, youth empowerment and aggravated institutional cum private sector development initiatives.

 

The deputy speaker enjoined all and sundry to support the first ever Mgbidi Trade Expo and Cultural Festival noting that its success will institutes other communities in the start to embark on the similar developmental events.
