Even as 2015 election is two years away, opposition political parties in the state are fine-tuning strategies to snatch power from PDP in the Country.

At Tuesday’s rally held in Owerri, the Imo State capital where eight Governors of APC extraction stormed Owerri, for a solidarity rally, the host Governor and Imo State number one citizen Owelle Rochas Okorocha said that 23 Governors were already members of the APC.

He said that APC are working hard to wrestle power from the party at the top adding that all sections of the country including Ndigbo are strongly behind the party.

Okorocha pointed out that it was a matter of time for the APC to take over every level of governance in the country, saying the PDP had failed the people for the 14 years of democracy it was in office.

While lamenting PDP’s misrule which stagnated progress in the country, most of the APC Governors who spoke at the rally PDP would be flushed out in the next general election.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos described APC as a great train of change that would liberate the people while his Oyo state counter part, Abiola Ajimobi described PDP as People Destroying People from its People Deceiving People.

Others who spoke noted that the outstanding performances of APC Governors which is being reflected by Okorocha’s magic wand in Imo will be the weapon for public acceptance, adding that the past years were wasted by PDP leadership in Imo State.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State Chapter has described the APC boast to capture Imo State in the 2015 elections a mere fallacy that does not hold water.

Speaking to Trumpeta, the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu said the visit of the Eight APC Governors to Imo State was a media stunt by Gov Rochas Okorocha to remain in office.

Amajirionwu said “This is another indication of Gov Okorocha’s obsession for hanging on to power. What he did is one of those unserious things associated with him”.

The Party Spokesman went on “It is strange to think that South-East will associate with an opposition party. The South-East has always played along the National politics, not playing along sectional issues” Amajirionwu maintained.

He concluded by saying that “You can be assured that in Imo State, not even a Ward, talkless of a Local Government would go the way of APC. Okorocha is on his own. Look how he has dumped APGA. While Imo Workers are on strike over unpaid salaries and allowances the Governor is busy celebrating”.
