Bishop of the Diocese of Egbu Rt. Rev Geoffrey Okorafor has counseled Christians to absolutely place their trust in God in all their circumstance. In his sermon during a Eucharistic service of confirmation, admission and induction for Okpala parish at Zion Anglican Church Okpala in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State he explained that God does not require swords and spears to rescue them from their trials. Rt. Rev Okorafor urged Christians not to be afraid once being persecuted for their faith in Christ. He pointed out that God would always fight their battles for them and do
for them what no man could do so long as they were faithful to Him.
The Bishop also advised them to be ever clothed in righteousness in order to be strengthened by God’s abiding power. He further advised that they should desist from looking else where for help as God he said is always there to meet them at the point of their needs for He cares over whatever concerned them apart from knowing all their problems. He thanked God for the candidates that were presented into the different arms of the Church and advised that they should distance themselves from the various vices plaguing the nation. While the Bishop further charged them to pursue all that make for peace in their various families being themselves the instruments for reconciliations in these homes, observed with pains that the more peace and love were advocated in homes the more they had continued to be elusive. He also challenged parents to ever remember that God exists assuring that as He lives, He would lead them through all their trials and make them victorious. The Bishop said he was pleased with the effort of the
Vicar Canon Vincent Odom and his wife; Rev Ebenezar Obi and his wife and the other Church Workers in the parish for fished out the number of candidates presented for confirmation, admission and induction. To the confirmation candidates the Bishop commended them for their new status in the Church as full fledged members with great
responsibilities.
