Drug Peddlers have Left Imo-NDLEAA Commander

The Imo State Commander of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr Kaku M Mshelia has stated that drug peddlers have left the state, due to the serious efforts of the agency to keep the state free from drug addicts.
The Commander stated this on Monday, while interacting with Trumpeta on the achievements of the agency under his supervision in the last few months.
He stated that since he was posted to Imo state, he has made stringent efforts to arrest and prosecute drug peddlers, adding that the agency has combed every nook and cranny of the state in order to make it free from drug addicts.
He noted that in the last few months, the agency has seized 98. 7 grams of cocaine and 152.242 kilograms of Indian hemp, adding that 32 suspects were also arrested in the months of July and August, stressing that the agency would not relent in its efforts to the state uncomfortable for drug addicts.
Mr Mshelia however commended the tireless efforts of the officers in the agency, adding that if not for their co-operation he wouldn’t have recorded any achievement.
He appealed to the federal and state governments to recruit more personnel into the agency, adding that the greatest challenge facing it is insufficient manpower.
He further appealed to the governments to also assist the agency in the provision of operational vehicles for the personnel to move around inorder to ascertain situations in the rural areas of the state.
He commended the cooperation of Imo state government to the agency, stressing that governor Okorocha has so far rendered good assistance to the agency and encourage him to do more.
