A group which is set-out to redress the current lingering challenges being faced by the larger society in Nigeria has stressed the need for National Re-orientation.
Delivering a lecture during a seminar held recently at the office of Xtraval Leadership Solutions in Owerri, tagged “Re-orientation; The Solution To Nigeria’s Problems”, Mr. Kelechi G. Aguwuom stated that the situation in which Nigeria finds its self today is the total summation of the decisions of its citizens, noting that one’s decision depends on his/her mindset, explaining that the mind is a major catalyst of the general behavioral/attitudinal outcome of an individual.
He further explained that the solution to Nigeria’s problems can begin with re-orientating the people and its government, pointing-out that the government can only be effective and efficient with the collaborative efforts of his/her citizens and condemned blames which have in most cases been shifted towards corruption and bad leadership, noting that ignorance and misinformation by most people tend to be the major problem of our Nation.
He however urged people to find time and think of what they can do and not what they perceive as a generally accepted trend, culture (way of life) and or believe, adding that ignorance has eaten deep into the fabric of our attitudinal behavior, choice and decision making.
During an interactive session, participants of the seminar who contributed stated that most Nigerians do not make quality decisions because they don’t think as they allegedly associate it to the country’s harsh living conditions. One of the participants during the seminar Mr. Austen Nlemchukwu further noted that without proper thinking, one cannot make informed decisions that can make positive impact to his/her society. In the same vein, another participant, Miss Christy Unakalamba said that one’s mindset is a very strong tool if appropriately utilized, as she stressed the need for proper guidance in molding the mindset of children.
