The first casualty to be in the ongoing election petition tribunal going on in Owerri is the rejection of a petition filed against the victory of Chief Gerry Alagbaoso in the March 28,2015 national Assembly Election , by Stan Dara.
Ruling on the matter which came to an end yesterday, the election tribunal noted that based on technical flaws, Dara’s petition lacked merit before it was struck out.
The petition was struck out on two grounds, which include the inability of the petitioner to list the score of candidates that contested for the federal house of assembly seat in his federal constituency.
It was also ruled by the tribunal panel that the pre-trial notice was filed out of time by the petitioner.
Dara of the APC ran for the Orlu/Orsu/Oru east federal constituency which he lost to Alagbaso forcing him to approach the tribunal for redress
However, Dara was stunned when his petition was thrown out allowing Alagbaso the PDP candidate continue functioning as member representing the area.
