Last years defending champions of the Ngor-Okpala Lucrative mock champions league Imerienwe on Sunday crashed out of the annual championship losing 0-1 to Obiangur.
In a keenly contested final group game played at Ihitte on Sunday, the champions failed to find their target with numerous wasted chances in Obiangur’s vital area.
Captain for his side Uwakwe Chukwuebuka did put Obiangur in front at the 40th minute of the first half to silence the fans of Imerienwe who trooped out in mass to support their team.
The game which was disrupted by rain during the kick-off can easily be adjudged as the match of the week with breath taking moves orchestrated by both sides who were determined to give their best.
From this result the champions have therefore failed to make it to the knock-out stage of this year’s champion’s league.
It would be recalled that Imerienwe won the maiden edition of the Ngor-Okpala mock champions league last December after beating Umuneke Ngor 1-0 in the final to cart home the converted trophy.
