Elder Statesman, Aloy Nnawugo Hails Imo Governor Over Newly Sited Awo-Omamma State Polytechnic
..As He Salutes Uzodimma’s Infrastructural Developments

A respected elder statesman, Elder Aloy Nnawugo has commended the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for the conversion and establishment of Dr. B.U Nzeribe State Polytechnic, Awo-Omamma, in Oru East Local Government Area of the State.
Expressing delight on the latest development, the International business mogul cum Community leader doffed hat for the governor on his vision in considering Awo-Omamma suitable to site one of the State’s owned Polytechnics.
Elder Nnawugo described the action as a bold step by Uzodimma, especially his respect for the past heroes.
Explaining his approval on naming the Polytechnic after Dr. B.U Nzeribe, Elder Nnawugo attributed him as a giant in the early Nigerian Politics who served Awo-Omamma, Oru Nation (East and West), Imo State and Nigeria as the first Nigerian Republic Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives until the onset of the civil war.
He stressed that the Awo-Omamma State Polytechnic will not only accelerate development in the host communities, but will further propagate good academic learning to complement the efforts of the Uzodimma’s led administration.
He stated that it has been the desires of majority of the indigenes of having such a long lasting infrastructure such as a higher citadel of learning.
Nnawugo also extolled Uzodimma for making history, pointing out that Awo-Omamma people and the entire Oru East will eternally remain grateful.
“I am very elated on this feat. In my presence, I have seen Awo-Omamma Polytechnic coming to reality. I cannot thank Governor Hope Uzodimma enough for this rare gift to humanity and for the promotion of education. It shows he has a direction, so I cannot make a mistake if I call him an intentional, visionary governor with mind blowing prospects.
“This is more than a project, it is a dream come true for our people and a foundation that will transform the future of our land”,
Nnawugo posited.
More so, Nnawugo listed job opportunities, business/economic boom, innovations and legit landmarks to be merits derivable from the existence of the Polytechnic in the locality.
Furthermore, Uzodimma was commended for his continued recognitions of elder statesmen both the living and the dead like the Convention Centre named after Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre, EIICC, stressing that posterity will never cease to be fair on him.
Elder Nnawugo also appraised the governor on the Skillup Imo program which has trained and equipped over fifty thousand Imolites under the Cohort 1-3 and still counting, stressing that by so doing, crimes and other social unrest would drastically reduce.
“This is highly positive of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma. Engaging the youths, training them in acquiring one or two skills and graduating them with start-up kits, is a bold step in the right direction. This is teaching the young ones how to fish and a surest means to self reliance. I give the Governor a kudos for this initiative”, said Nnawugo.
Relatively, he prayed the governor to remain focused for greater works ahead towards the service of God and humanity.
On general administration under Uzodimma’s watch, the Awo-Omamma born elite and elder statesman rated him high on quality infrastructural developments namely; the Assumpta flyover, the construction of the Owerri-Umuahia road, Owerri-Orlu road, Owerri-Okigwe road, the inland roads, rural roads network.
In furtherance, the construction of general hospitals, health centres across the Wards, support to security architecture in the state, salary increment for civil servants among other welfare and pension matters got a eulogy for the governor, courtesy of Elder Aloy Nnawugo.
