Anxiety in Imo APC As Search for New Party Exco Begins
Palpable tension and fear of the unknown is said to have gripped members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State following report about the underground search for new executives.
It would be recalled that the tenure of the party excos from state to local government and wards had elapsed before the part leadership decided to appoint a national chairman and allowed other structures to continue.
But recently, Trumpeta learnt that the LGA and Ward levels will soon be removed from office for a new one.
Following this development, this newspaper was told that search for new officials at all levels has commenced.
Available sources revealed that gathering of names of LGA and ward officials is being done underground to avoid interest. Having learnt about the tactics employed by those involved, party leaders and officials at the local level are not only tensed but also battling with the fear of the unknown.
The fear of the unknown arises from the fact that the leaders are afraid they may not be considered in the scheme in the process of choosing the Exco members
Imo state APC is under the chairmanship of Hon Dr Macdonald Ebere who recently embarked on LGA tours to ascertain strength and manpower available.
