Fresh Trouble Hits Imo APC Over Membership Registration Leaders Fight At Party Secretariate

If reports reaching Trumpeta newsroom is anything to go by, the All Progress Congress APC membership registration may spell doom to the party that is fast emerging as opposition party to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Apart from verbal wars, there was near exchange of blows among the party leaders and faithful who accused each other of manipulation and cheating as registration of members begin.
APC members who thronged to the state party secretariat at works layout road, at IMSU junction Owerri, almost turned the place to a battle ground when party members charged at each other and attempted to disrupt sharing of party registration items.
Our correspondent who monitored the proceedings at the party secretariat reported that it was endless war for APC members in Owerri Municipal who fought in the presence of party chairman, Prince Marshall Okafor as accusations of hijacking party materials rented the air. One aggrieved faction endlessly fought Hon. Sam Oparaku for allegedly fomenting trouble in APC as he escaped lynching by the whiskers.
The fight in APC secretariat started around noon in the presence of Okafor who tried in vain to stop the fight at the first floor of the whit coloured building on reaching the ground, another vitally ensued among the warring faction at the car par leading to the gate when a group accused each other of manipulations in change of name or the assignments.
When the battle raged, passers-by including other party faithful and security personnel waded in to calm frayed nerves before the war subsidized.
Another side to the battle is the resistance put by some strong APC members against attempts to hijack the registration by suspected Okorocha Appointees.
However, in Aboh Mbaise LGA it was reported that strong committee have been formed in all the three political blocks, namely Enyiato, Oke and Nguru blocks.
In Enyiato bloc, 7 man committee to be headed by the T.C Chairman Hon. Dr Victor Okpabia was formed. Another 7 man committee led by chief Alan .B Onyemaechi was also formed in Nguru bloc 10 man committee to be chaired by Hon Sam Onwuamaedo was also formed in Oke blocs.
The commissioner for Transport and Tourism Hon Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe was appointed to be the over-all chairman of the groups.
Speaking to Journalists at Mbaise, Hon Alaribe stated that all the facilities to take the registration of members very seriously and make sure that no stone was left unturned are on ground. He hinted that there was positive turn out in Mbutu Okeovuru and other areas in Aboh Mbaise. “With the level of achievements so far, opposition parties are going to fail totally in Aboh Mbaise.”
