Political stakeholders in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, last Tuesday, took a snipe at the member representing the LGA at the Imo House of Assembly, Hon Adaku Ihuoma.

They said they are no longer comfortable with the conduct of the lawmaker.

In his statement, Chief Victor Iheanacho blasted Hon Ihuoma for what he termed as total confiscation of the dividends democracy meant for Ahiazu people.

He accused Hon Ihuoma of also diverting the entire contract awards in Ahiazu constituency to herself and her husband.

Lending his support to the recall of Hon Ihuoma Nze K. C Nwoke, the chairman Ahiazu moral moajority, demanded that the state Attorney General Barr Soronnadi Njoku should explain to Imolites what the constitution says concerning elected office holders decamping from their parent parties to another party especially with regards to Hon Ihuoma and two other PDP members that defeated to APGA recently.

Sir Kevin Ibeawuchi the Chairman of G 16 also condemned cross carpeting as discipline of the highest order and a proff of the immaturity and hollowness of political parties calling on the entire people of Ahiazu Mbaise to join hands in ensuring that this double faced individual doesn’t continue representing Ahiazu constituency in the state House of Assembly.

The 1999 constitution in section 68 (1) g outlawed Cross carpeting when it started “A member of the Senate or the House of Representatives shall vacate his seat in the House of which he or she is member if being a person whose election to the House was sponsored by political party, he becomes a member of another political party before the expiration of the period for which the House was elected”. This according to Hon Chris Okechukwu, an APGA leader in Ahiazu Mbaise is exactly the actions of Hon Ihuoma and the other two PDP House members that defected to APGA.

He went ahead to say that, Such people are not worthy to be representatives of their various constituencies.

In the words of Hon Mbadiwe of the House of Rep. Its Immoral, anti – party and anti – people and should be outlawed with a bill to ban cross carpeting”, he said.

Chief Onuoha stated that the entire APGA ward leaders and Ahiazu political leaders forum recently rose from a crucial meeting resolving to use all political strategies and the clauses in the constitution including anti – party activities to recall Hon Ihuoma, from the Imo House for identity crises as she is neither believed to be an APGA or PDP member.
