The Njaba Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is boiling following the resolve of stakeholders of the party in the area to suspend Chief Cyril Nwokorobia (Akuneshiobike) from the party as its apex leader.

Nwokorobia had earlier been suspended by his ward APGA Ward 11 Umuakah for some reasons, including alleged political allegiance to former Governor Ikedi Ohakim during the 2011 general elections.

And as part of measures to sanitize the party in the area, 3 Man Committee headed by Hon Charles Ike has been constituted to provide a window of opportunity to the suspended party leader to clear himself of all wrong doing and allegations.

However, in his place, the party nominated Mr. Reuben Okoro as the new apex leader for Njaba, while Engr. Okenwa Sam Anyaehie was nominated as Njaba representative/ex Officio to the APGA State Executive.

The party in the area decided to pass a vote of no confidence on Nwokorobia, observing with dismay the epileptic way and manner he has piloted the affairs of the party in the area.

In a letter to the Chairman, Imo State APGA, dated July 28th, 2012, which was availed the Imo Trumpeta, the party stated that the decision to sack Nwokorobia was taken after a meeting of the party’s Local Government Executives, all ward Chairmen and secretaries, Youth leaders, women leaders, ward caucus leaders and stakeholders of the party held at River side primary school, Isiozi- Akah.

Part of the letter reads “that the indefinite suspension of Chief Cyril Nwokorobia (Akunesiobike) from APGA by APGA ward 2 Umuakah is confirmed and upheld. Chief Nkokorobia’s indefinite suspension from the party to the makority of members is the right step in the right direction towards the quest to take APGA to greater heights”

In another letter to theAPGAImoStatechairman signed by caucus leaders of the party, the party announced the withdrawal as the ex – officio member from Njaba LGA in the Executive council with effect from Tuesday, July 31, 2012.

“that with effect from August 1st, 2012, Engr Sam Anyaehie Okenwa is the duly nominated Ex – officio member, from Njaba LGA in the state executive council of APGA, Imo State” they declared.
