Three weeks after Owelle Rochas Okorocha vacated from Govt House, Owerri, there has not been any form of church activity in the magnificent chapel situated in front of the premises.
Trumpeta scooped that the chapel which used to be a gathering place for Rescue Mission stalwarts of the Okorocha era, every Sunday, during Sunday service has turned to a ghost town without any form of church activity.
Apart from service of songs, praise worship and other forms of religious programs, the Government House car park was always filled to brim each Sunday Okorocha was available and held sway as followers of the governor throng the premises.
Our reporter who went on a fact finding mission why there has not been any business of church service at the venue revealed that no activity can hold there for now as the place appear to have been looted.
It was discovered that items and materials that had adorned the place have been carted away by agents of the immediate past government. A source our reporter met disclosed that the chapel was looted dry and veritable items carted away to unknown location.
“There is no way a church service can hold here because what is needed has been removed. So church service can’t hold. A new chaplain has been appointed though not made public. But, Trumpeta learnt that it has not been announced”.
The newspaper recalls that all notable church items were available during the Okorocha regime under Pastor Bummi Babs.
