Reasons behind the desire of the Ihedioha government unearthing suspected misdeed committed by his predecessor have been gathered.
Commenting on the issue, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha disclosed that it would amount to a great disservice to Imolites if the commonwealth of the state allegedly pocketed by an individual or family was not recovered adding that it is not a witch hunt to probe Rochas Okorocha.
Agency reports quote Ihedioha to have told Journalists in Yola after a visit to the governor of the state over the death of the father that Nigerians should not see the probe of Okorocha as witch hunt noting that the outcome of the probe report and ongoing investigation was necessary to make Imo State better.
He denied reports in the media that he said the State Government has recovered N1.2bn and some properties from the outgone Rochas Okorocha administration.
He said such statement never emanated from him.
“I don’t think I said all those things. Because I m not witch hunting the former Governor
“There was a Committee that we set up that is doing all those things.
“The findings of the Committee have not been made known to me. Obviously, this (probe) is to make Imo State better”
