Following the present situation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (SamDaddy) has challenged members of the party in Ikeduru local government area to remain focus in their determination to deliver on the core values of the party.
Senator Anyanwu described as hoax the rumor making the rounds that PDP was incapacitated and cannot match the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.
He therefore identified genuine reconciliation as the only option left for the party to guarantee success in the future, and stressed the need for all hands to be on deck towards restoring the dignity of PDP in the state.
Senator Anyanwu regretted that selfishness, wickedness and backstabbing had remained bad examples that nearly destroyed the party in the past, appealing to everyone to come together to make PDP more formidable again.
He made this appeal when the entire party executive paid him a New Year visit at his country home, Amaimo Ikeduru.
Anyanwu, an Amaimo Ikeduru Imo State born lawmaker also called on politicians making uncomplimentary comments capable of sparking off crisis in the state to desist, assuring of his readiness to join hands with other leaders to bring lasting peace, unity and victory to the party.
While advising the leadership of the party in Ikeduru LGA to embark on a radical membership drive, also warned them not to fall prey to the whims and caprices of mischief makers whose stock in trade was to destroy PDP at all cost.
Speaking, Chairman of PDP in Ikeduru, Chief Joseph Ugwulebo commended Senator Anyanwu for his genuine love for the party, expressing optimism that victory would be achieved if everyone could come together.
The party chairman further called on leaders to embrace one another and shun act that may trigger crisis, saying that PDP remains the only alternative that offers genuine leadership services to the state and her people.
He promised to work hard with his executive to attract more members to the party and called on anyone interested in joining PDP not to hesitate, describing the party as people’s last bus stop.
Chief Ugwulebo also thanked Senator Anyanwu for providing them with offices in all the Wards in the LGA, and enjoined other leaders of the party in Ikeduru in particular and the state at large to emulate him.
