OWERRI NBA INAUGURATES NEW EXCO

The Owerri chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association on Wed. 6th June held a banquet in honour of their out going executives led by Nze Akalonu Esq and the new executive led by Bar S.I Opara. During the banquet the new executives were inaugurated by the Imo state commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Bar Soronnadi Njoku, the event which took place at the Law Bar inside the High Court premises Owerri, witnessed the attendance of the low and mighty in the Owerri chapter of the NBA.

In his speech, the new president Bar. S.I Opara thanked the members for finding him worthy to lead them also appreciated their support during the past executives where he served as Vice president. He assured them that he will not leave any stone in his manifesto unturned, as long as the members will give him their unalloyed support and constructive criticisms that will help him build a vibrant and united Bar, progressive and dynamic Bar, where the seniors will be respected and the young ones will be encouraged to aspire to greater heights and build a cordial relationship with the National body.

Speaking earlier, the out going president Nze Akalonu Esq. had told the members how appreciative he is for their support and criticism which helped him sub due all his challenges as they come. He pointed out that his highest achievement includes uniting the Bar, attending all meetings but one, organizing the best law week so far, judicious use of fund, leaving the Bar account in credit when it was met in debit, getting the law Bar to 90%. Completion and above all the peaceful transition of power to a new executive.

The state Arttorney General, during the inauguration thanked Nze Akalonu Esq for all his selfless services and commitment, as he express trust on the new executive for having Bar, Opara who was part and parcel of the previous excos success as their new leaders. He also advised them that anything less than the standard already set by the previous exco will not be accepted by the entire members. The wonderful input of the out going director of Socials and Welfare was also acknowledged and commended.
